Brothers and Sisters,
Your bargaining committee has been working very hard on your behalf to secure the best collective agreement for all members of 1615.
We began bargaining in March and after several meetings with the employer it has become clear that our efforts to achieve a fair, equitable and respectful collective agreement has reached an impasse. The locals bargaining committee has applied to the Labor Relations Division to appoint a conciliator to assist in the process of achieving a new collective agreement.
I want to assure all of you, on behalf of your bargaining committee, that we will keep you updated as much as possible as things progress. Dates have to be scheduled by the Labor Relations Division at this point and hopefully, this impasse can be dealt with quickly, and we achieve the best possible contract for you, our members.
