The collective agreement sets out the earned rights of the members of CUPE 1615, as well as the responsibilities of the union local and its members.

CUPE National Constitution
The CUPE Constitution belongs to the members of CUPE and it determines the Union’s goals and how the Union operates at a national level. It forms the basis for the functioning of the more than 2,100 CUPE Local Unions across Canada.

The CUPE 1615 boardroom is located on the fourth floor of the Alexander Murray Building (also known as the Earth Sciences (ER) building) on the St. John’s campus of Memorial University. The room number is ER 4051.

Overview
The bylaws are the rules that govern the operations of CUPE 1615 and its Executive.

In order to improve the social and economic welfare of its members without regard to age, physical and/or mental disability, race, creed, colour, national origin, political or religious affiliation, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, place of residence, membership or activity in any Union, to promote efficiency in public employment and to manifest its beliefs in the value of unity of organized labour, this Local of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (hereinafter referred to as CUPE) has been formed.
The following By-Laws are adopted by the Local pursuant to, and to supplement the CUPE constitution, to safeguard the rights of all members, to provide for responsible administration of the Local, and to involve as many members as possible through the sharing of duties and responsibilities.

Educational Awards
Educational Awards are usually presented at the May monthly membership meeting.
Only daughters, sons, and or spouses of current CUPE 1615 members and members are eligible to receive awards.
Awards are open only to students currently registered at any University or College Program (of at least 2 years in duration) at any recognized post-secondary institution.
Applicants must have at least a 65% average in their previous full-time semester. Please include a transcript of your marks with your application. If your transcript lists letter grades only (e.g. A+, A, etc.) you are required to include a numerical value of the grades used by the institution (e.g. A+ = 90-100, etc.)
Successful applicants will be selected using a random draw process and presented at the May general monthly meeting.
