MUNSU has extended a heartfelt invitation for our members to join them on October 1st at 12:00 PM at the MUN Clock Tower for their Day of Action. From there, we will march together to the Confederation Building to demand proper funding for Memorial University.
CUPE 1615 members are the backbone of this university. You keep Memorial running every day—supporting students, staff, and faculty through your work in offices, labs, libraries, and buildings across campus. Yet just like students, you have been forced to shoulder the consequences of years of underfunding: heavier workloads, cuts to services, and uncertainty about the future.
This provincial election year gives us a real chance to fight back. Tuition hikes and staffing cuts are two sides of the same coin, and students and workers must stand together to demand investment in public education. With CUPE 1615’s solidarity, our call for change will be louder and stronger.
MUNSU would be honoured to march alongside our members on October 1st to show that students and workers are united for the future of Memorial and of Newfoundland and Labrador.
